Howdy glucose junkies!

I had an AWESOME 5km/3.1mile running race today! Bettered my last time by 33seconds to bring it to 21:05! My PB is 20:20 but that was a while back so I’m happy with this current time. It really hurt like hell to push myself but now I’m floating on cloud 9 with bliss. Please do yourself a favour and get your ass into running!

So onto the hot topic…

In recent times I decided to have some cooked vegan food. Partly experiment, partly due to being undercarbed. I had a few things, some tofu, steamed potatoes and lentils. At the time the taste was overwhelming because there was salt on the tofu and interestingly it wasn’t really that tasty beyond the first few bites, it did however leave me full at the end. My sleep wasn’t as sound. The next morning I woke up feeling pretty hung over. I spied myself in the mirror and had a pretty puffy face. My hands were fatter with fluid retention due to the sodium content, making it harder to close them. My belly carried an extra layer of fluid which had a jiggle to it – proving that not all jiggly weight is fat! My digestion wasn’t as good and I didn’t have my big fruity bowel movement in the morning. Later I realised many of these symptoms were due to being dehydrated as well (from not drinking enough water followed by eating cooked food). I got moving and went for an easy jog, my whole digestive system didn’t feel as light and floaty as I was used to it feeling. After the jog I felt a whole lot better.

So the prognosis? Fruit is QUEEN as usual. Every bite of fruit is AMAZING, without salt, without added flavours and excitotoxins, just as is. Fruit is the only food that doesn’t leave us with somewhat of a debt to pay, every other food (on a lesser scales greens) is subject to the debt-collector… That being said if for some reason I can’t get hold of fruit or pasteurised juice I will *consider* having cooked carbohydrates like potatoes. I would rather be carbed up then exhausted and hungry.

I am all about helping people stay vegan first and foremost, over the years I have seen far too many people go back to eating animals because they didn’t educate themselves to the importance of eating sufficient carbohydrates. And it kills me… They come to the HCRV lifestyle with no ethical attachment to animals whatsoever (like myself actually) then undereat on fruit and BAM! they are back eating everything…even the flesh of another creature…SICK. This is not only supporting the murder of innocent animals and the rape of our environment but it is also EXTREMELY damaging to their health.

People aren’t getting fat and sick off plant foods (cooked or not), they are getting fat and sick off animal pieces and secretions. So remember if you are not prepared to do what it takes to thrive on the most ideal lifestyle for humans *The HCRV lifestyle* then listen up! Before you go back to eating health/animal/planet-destroying ‘foods’ please INCREASE YOUR CARBS first! Get them from cooked carbohydrates if you have to. Go to cronometer and work out your calories so you are having 80% or more of your calories from carbs a day, 10% (or less) from fat and from protein. You can be EVERYTHING you want to be and more but only if you are carbed UP!

Well it’s just about time for me to go fruit myself

Ok so onto the latest news….

BANGED UP ABROAD IN BANGKOK….

I was thinking about the time I spent in Bangkok recently, I was there for around 5months. My reason for staying there was to learn Thai language for a year. Obviously this didn’t end up working out because I’m now back here in Aussieland (thankfully). My plans started out alright, I got everything with my course paid up, found a small studio apartment in the heart of Bangkok near Lumpini Park and was close to good fruit sources. I started classes and found them fun, everyone was really nice and class was interesting. I wasn’t exactly learning a lot because class was only 4hrs a week and my commitment to homework was overrun by my desire to contribute on the net.

Harley went back to Australia for a few months and I began spending up to 15hrs a day on the internet, closed up in a small concrete room surrounded by the polluted city of Bangkok. After spending 24/7 with Harley, I got really lonely and became somewhat a hermit. I began seeing less people, exercising less and eating less because I was spending so much time on the internet. The internet became like my coffee, a stimulant giving me false energy that I would pay back later. I wasn’t eating enough and as a result I could hardly sleep at night (fasters are notoriously bad sleepers). In turn I became dehydrated. Living in lack instead of abundance.

Needless to say I started behaving like someone I didn’t know or particularly like, I felt strange and out of balance and expected more from myself. People and things that normally didn’t worry me at all became significant problems all of a sudden, I found it hard to experience gratitude and understanding. When Harley was away I became frustrated at him having fun in the sun without me and gave him a hard time about it. I said some things I wasn’t proud of for sure, sometimes I stuff up and in that moment I was definitely in a compromised state. Harley was cool of course because he is the master of not taking things personally. He also sees me as his soulmate and has unconditional love for me, I am so grateful for this.

Don’t get me wrong though, I really did have many good times in my unit, times of absolute bliss! It’s hard not to on this lifestyle. That’s just it, essentially I wasn’t following the lifestyle at all, I wasn’t doing it correctly. I knew as a whole I wasn’t looking after myself well at all. The lethal combination of 15hrs a day on the computer, under-eating, dehydration, lack of sleep, living in a small concrete room in a polluted city was starting to wear on me. Maybe this is why I manifested little Bunny rabbit Jay into my life, I found her on deaths door and helped her recover, she in turn helped me. Why am I telling you all this? Well because I want to help others who may not be feeling 100% themselves and offer up possible reasons why. What have I learned from this experience? Always look after my basic needs FIRST, above all, sugar, water, sleep first and foremost. Don’t put myself in environment/situation that is unhealthy and breeds unhealthy habits.

I now realise many people live on this level everyday of their lives and they wonder why they feel and look like death. After my short stint as an undercarbed hermit in Bangkok I realise how hard life must be for these folks 24/7. This is one of the reasons why I adopt a tough love approach to helping people because I really care and I know this approach works. People can hate me if they want but my heart is in the right place. Often times I’m the only one they will hear it from. Most of us need to get uncomfortable about our bad habits before we consider changing them. I needed to.

I now limit my internet time to 6hrs a day and as nature intended spend many hours having fun in the sun. I won’t live in such a polluted place ever again particularly because I’m so sensitive to my surrounding environment. If you can’t get enough fruit make sure you still don’t limit your carbohydrate intake even if that means eating Dr Mcdougall-style high carb, low fat vegan dishes. It’s better to be 100% carbed up then 100% raw and undercarbed suffering from constant glucose-exhaustion.

I just can’t emphasise the importance of firstly balancing the carbs, water, sleep equation, it is crucial if you want to be your trueself and attract abundance into your life. And remember you weren’t born with a computer strapped to your lap or with an exhaust pipe blowing in your face. Live as close to nature as you can. Lastly, problems are a sign of life, they are character building and we bring them into our lives for a reason, so we can learn, grow and smash through our limiting behaviour.

Rock on glucose junkies!
